Shawn, you seem to be leaving out the weight of the resin, which should be aproximately equal to the weight of the fabic. Are commercial layups actually 60-100 ounce/sq. yd., or do they actually use half as much fabic as you indicate?

One suggestion: since the boat is going to be used in rock gardens, perhaps the outer layer should be Dynel.
