It would be about 1 foot aft of the aft edge of the cockpit. It wouldn't be as effective as if it were further back, but I don't need a lot of skeg control, just a little bit.

I agree. That's why I liked paddling greenlake better because I could figure out more what the boat was like with and without the influence of the wind.

Maybe I'm exagerating (sp?) the effects, but I'll see what all the "experts" think when they test it out at R2K1. I really like how it handles otherwise.
