: I just got finished milling my strips yesterday. I have an endless supply of
: white cedar strips but need other colors to make the boat more
: interesting. Trading strips seems like the most economical way to go
: because it would only involve shipping. Is UPS the best way to ship
: something 20 feet long?

: Anyone interested in a trade?

Be aware that UPS and FedEx Ground have a limit of 130 inches in the circumference of the package. If you check with your local UPS warehouse or shipper they should be able to explain it. Essentially you can't ship longer than 9'. That length uses up 108" so you have 22" left which you can use for the width and height of the package.
Also, if you consider shipping anything this long by UPS or FedEx Ground cross your fingers. Unless the package is well done and fairly thick it can get caught in their conveyor system and turned to cedar toothpicks. Because of this all of our employees are required to graduate from the "Denise Brown School of Packaging".
