see over on this board I'll still give you an answer, so where did the Bucket name come from? Honestly if you're concerned about strength stuff it would also be a good idea to take a kayaking class so the answers will apply to your experience. As far as hull strength is concerned it's not a good idea to place your kayak onto a rock then get into it. That's a hull strength issue. A 240person that wants to sit on the decks of kayaks should probably reconsider their use of kayaks for long term use, or build it a few ozs heavier to address the intended use of frequent deck sitting.
