This is what the coaming would have looked like when wiped up and on the boat. There just wasn't enought time to make three wipes 8 feet long to eliminate shrinkage and make the bends around my cockpit because the body putty sets up to quickly, especially in hot weather. It only broke in the back areas where my cockpit makes two 6" radius bends. My plan was to use it the rest of the summer and if it did crack, to then put some fiberglass over it. I could still make a good model, make fiberglass molds off of it and then pour stright lengths out of rubbery stiff two part casting polyurethane that could then be bent around the cockpit and glued into place. That would fit any cockpit size or shape. But I won't.
