Option B: Pygmy. I like the "multi chine" deck of the Pygmy. I know "Wooden Boat Magazine" did a build project of the Pygmy double or triple... I'm pretty sure it was the triple. I'm sure they can refer you to the issues to reference and you can back-order from "Wooden Boat." Whichever you choose I salute your decision to involve your family and wish you luck.

Also would you be interested in adopting a 34-year-old son? I promise I will clean my room and mow the yard if you will buy me a Pygmy "Coho". I'll even shovel snow if you live up that-a-way. I'd take good care of you on father's day. I'd buy you a new router or a jig-saw long before I got you a tie or a pair of slippers.
