I now see what was meant by the sealant being squished out the gap. When used for a vehicle gasket it is allowed to get tacky (about ten to twenty minutes)then the parts put together. I figured for a hatch you could just let it totally cure leaving a solid rubbery seal. also with practice you can get a very consistent bead(and you cut the tip to whatever size bead you need) and it is possible to flatten the bead before it gets to tacky(more practice).But again I dont know how well the stuff will stick to or how it would effect epoxy.

P.s. I'm a Ford V-8 guy so I get lots of practice(lots and lots of practice).
