As simple as it sounds, it's a good idea and would really pay off with the sculing technique. with the flatter side on the bottom it would produce great lift with very littl skill. Many people don't understand the value of the skulling technique.
I don't know how skilled you are, but you can effortlessly skull up rather than use all that hip snap nonsense for rolling - especially with the Greenland paddle or your new winged one.
