: Check his Night Heron,

I am in the finishing stages of my low decked heron currently. I am a bit bigger than you 5'11 and 170 but it seems that the boat will just fit me in this configuration and suit you even better. I have built the expedition single which is a great boat as well but I tend not to need its storage capacity most of the time. Well at least that was my excuse to build the heron. I haven't paddled one yet but it is said to handle between the exped and the G 17. Which even if it handles exactly like the exped I would be delighted. You can choose the deck height to suit your needs. I figured if i can pack 7+ days in my mountainlight pack I can at least get a weekend out of the low deck heron .
I put recessed rubber hatches in my boat to immitate the look of the brit boats and this cuts down on usuable space as well but it looks pretty cool and should be bombproof I hope.

In short each boat is designed excellently for its purpose pick one and start ripping.
