Malcom, at the risk of driving everyone nuts posting pictures, here is a better close up of the ram's head. I lost my early building pictures when my computer crashed and I didn't have them backed up. I found the ram's head in the Printmaster Gold program, and the program allows it to be stretched it to be shaped to any size length and width. I cut the pattern through the deck, then layed the pattern out on walnut and roughly cut it out. Then the fitting took some time. I took a 2500 rpm ele. hand drill with a three inch sanding disc chucked in it and clamped it to the top of the saw horse's 2x4. I cut a slit kerf across the 2x4 so the sander disc would partially lay in it and the 1 1/2 " top part of the 2x4 became a small sanding table to lay my pieces on to sand for an exat fit. I put a drop light under the cutout in the boat so I could see what needed to be sanded away as I fitted the pieces much like a puzzle.
