just this morning I was telling a friend of mine about my interest in buildig a sea kayak. He just offered some free Red Wood Cedar. This is the old growth stuff. A while ago he was given a contract to remove 400 telephone poles from a Canadian Armed Forces base here in Ontario. The poles are 75 feet long and 24" in diameter. It's all milled already but very rough. I need to give him a bill of materials. The wood comes in a full 2" by 8" by 8 feet long. How many boards do I need?
