In Response To: bending w/ steam / heat (Will Dickinson)
I used an old 'whistle' tea kettle, and a 4 inch PVC pipe fitted with a 45 degree elbow. The kettle sat on the propane gas griil, the 45 loosly fit over the kettle mouth. The pipe was angled up, away from the kettle slightly by resting the far end on a pile of 2x4s.
20 minutes in this very cheap steamer and I was bending cherry to wrap around the bow and stern of my G.
I needed to create forms to do the bending and to allow for over night drying.
