I tend to agree with Shawn; I'd sell my Cape Charles for $700-800 in a heartbeat. My son uses it though, and selling it would put the fire under me to finish the Walrus.

But I disagree with the other post about it not being a good boat. It is quite easy to handle in the rough, just a little of a wet ride as the bow tends to bury into the waves rather than riding over them. I think it needs a rudder in those conditions, which is not a bad thing; it makes sweep strokes unnecessary which for long distances is less tiring. It surfs well, and carves turnes well. It's a little hard to roll, but very stable. Carries a lot of gear.

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think new commercial boats start at about $2000, and used ones start at about $500, depending on how old and what boat they are.
