I'm not quite sure about the shape of your end pour. Sixteen inches sounds kind of long to me. With the boat standing on end, a six inch deep pour would seem generous.

Heat buildup is a problem with any end pour. One solution is to put the end of the boat in a plastic garbarge bag and stand it up in a bucket of cold water.
