: Made a new skin from recommended neoprene coated dacron. This
: material has no abrasion resistance at all. Put on extra strips. The
: neoprene coating is wearing thin.

: What do you suggest as a new coating? I would like to be able to fold it up.

Sounds like you may need to make another skin rather soon. If so, make it from thicker material.

Did you coat the dacron yourself, or buy precoated material? If you did the coating yourself, then paint on another layer of neoprene. If not, then get some liquid neoprene or Hypalon and use that. I believe the hypalon is supposed to be a bit more abrasion resistant than neoprene.

George Dyson is one of the usual sources for hypalon and neoprene, and links to him seem to be found on the baidarka list. He also has fabric if you get stuck with doing the whole project over.

Hope this helps
