In Response To: Help with Design?? (Greg Hicks)

: Greetings from the Mid-West (Indiana) -- I know this is really a questions
: for the Design Board, but all the action is here. My 22-year old daughter
: wants me to build her a boat to fish from. It will be used on ponds and
: lakes, needs to be fairly stable, light-weight (she's 5-1 & 130) and
: NOT too nice (not sure about storage; on/around college campus). I'm
: looking at the MillCreek 13, maybe the "Wacky Lassie", have
: plans for the 6-Hour Canoe", or something similar. Who's built what?
: and what are your suggestions? Thanks, Greg

The Mill Creek 13 is fine to fish from. I have used my son's MC13 to fish along the coast of Maine and he uses it to flyfish in local ponds. The flat bottom makes it very stable ( my son likes to stand up in it.) You can make it lighter than most if you are stingy with the epoxy. To keep it simple you can put the hatches in the bulkheads. good luck, Addison
