An auk can definately be rolled. Whether you or I could roll it is a different matter entirely. I've watched a lady rolling her ocean crossing canoe, fully loaded, back and forth the length of an olympic swimming pool for practice. I'm sure I couldn't do it!
Seriously, I would recommend as another has that you get a person to work with you on this. Watching videos or worse, trying to figure it out from drawings and words is very difficult and frustrating. A person who knows how to roll, and who can teach it will most likely have you flipping that auk in a very few minutes. There are a number of different techniques. Explore them, and find what is comfortable for you. I personally like the whitewater technique of unknown name where I lean forward, sweep the paddle without changing hand grips on it, and flick the boat up with a hip roll. Of course, rolling in the nice serenity of a swimming pool is very different then rolling out in the ocean or on a river.
