Gee, with something like that you'ld never need to learn how to roll a kayak. If you flip, just pull out the "capsule", slip it over your inverted boat and turn on the fan. Pretty soon your boat is floating, and draining too.

And if you get two, you can climb inside one and run around in it, like a hamster on an exercise wheel, which should keep you warm enough to fend off hypothermia.

I wonder if you could get these things made from metallized mylar. That should show up on a radar screen as an alien UFO, and either excite some military personnel, or create new myths for the neighbors to talk about for a few years.
