: After I did mine, I sat down and think about improving my way and come to
: this: (I have not tried this myself; may be someone will and let the
: others know)
: 1) Lay down a long strip of wax paper
wax paper would have to be only slightly wider than the tape.
: 2) Lay down the cut cloth strip on top of wax paper
: 3) Coat/ wet cloth with epoxy
: 4) Flip cloth / wax paper over
Onto another sheet of wax paper?
: 5) Roll cloth / wax paper up onto roller
Is there enough clearance between your roller frame? Or just use the roller?
: 6) Roll out cloth / wax paper onto seam
: 7) Peel off wax paper after epoxy start to kick
you will have a good chance of pulling the tape back up just as the epoxy is starting to kick, I dont know if I want to be that rushed in the event of it pulling up.
: Advantages: 1) Wax paper stiffens the wet cloth -- minimize strands entangles
: to each other
If you use a fabric cutter you shouldnt have very many strands to cleanup.
: 2) Epoxy is rolled / wetted not soaked-- less is used -- minimize runs and
: drips
Ring it out before applying by squeezing in your hand, like a lemon. Note I dont feel I ended up with too much epoxy on the tape as I worked the excess into the dry tape.
: Disadvantages: 1) More steps
: 2) Never try before
The above responses are just my humble opinion. I'm sure there are alot of others here with more glassing experience here than me. Good luck, Elliott
