I agree. My skin is a dark brown - I was trying to imatate the seal skin boats I've seen in videos. If I did another I would go with a transparent skin. I loved the way the frame looked un-skinned. A friend of mine uses poly and coats them with regular Poly varnish. they hold up fine and you can see the frame right through it with just enough opacity to define the kayak shape. There's a lot of beauty in the frames.
