A terrific event, twice as big as last year and growing exponentially. The King indeed is. Thanks for the opportunity to test drive it. IMHO this is the best balance between tracking and maneuverability on the water. It tracks like an expedition boat, but edges and turns like a short play boat, and I could hardly believe it was 18' long. I can't wait until the plans are available.

BTW, if anybody wants the notes from my epoxy demo, email me and I'll send them by return email.

: Joe, thanks again for organizing an outstanding event. The King is.

: Laurie Horlacher, thanks for your tireless efforts at the organizing table.

: Pete and Pete for showing how to stick things together with style.

: The USCG for an impressive (but sobering) rescue demonstration. Hopefully
: I'll never have to ask them to demonstrate their skills on me.

: Bill, nice job on the X--even if it did cause me my first unintentional wet
: exit of the entire year!!

: Mike and Don, thanks for the traditional paddle talk--I really have to carve
: one now!

: Al Gunther, for bringing the most impressive 1-month kayak I've ever paddled
: (and handrolled)!

: Thanks to everyone who joined me for my on-water navigation seminar. Who says
: navigation is boring? (We had 3.5' confused seas in a 4.5 kt tide rip, for
: those of you brave enough to stay on the beach)

: Sorry I missed the Sunday afternoon presentations, but we didn't get home
: until 2:00am this morning as it was. I'm sure Chris had another truly
: impressive display of his repertoire of Greenland skills.

: See you all next year!

: Shawn
