Pygmy and CLC are factories\workshops with attached stores. They have only their catalog and web based ordering services. In order to visit the stores, you have to go to Washington state for Pygmy, or Annapolis, Maryland for CLC. If you contact both Pygmy and CLC they can find people in your area who may be willing to let you test drive their boats, and may give you some construction pointers.

The kits are all the wood and epoxy you will need to build the boats. You supply time, tools and patience. Most of the kits for either company run $700. THink of them as life size model kits. PLans are great, if you have a place to buy quality marine grade plywood and such. If you really want to see the process for the CLC boats, try Amazon and get The New Kayak Shop.
