: What about for cutting the hatches? I would want the tool with the
: straightest cut and smallest kerf possible for that job right?
Bryan,
I just cut the hatches out of a stripper. Only difficulty was getting up the nerve. I tried a 12 tooth blade with hollow ground teeth, no set to teeth at all, on scrap and found it chipped the edges a little so I used a blade for metal/plastic which looks more/less like a hacksaw blade. It started by tilting in easily and cut nice and smooth without too much kerf. The fit is plenty tight enough once you give the edges a light coating of epoxy. I think any type of hand saw would be difficult to guide around radiused corners until you get really proficient with it. I put some masking tape on the saw foot to keep it from scratching.
I still want a pull saw but haven't found a good excuse to buy it yet.
