Hello. My name is Josh Guske, and I am currently a senior at Murphy High School in Murphy, North Carolina. Senior Exit Projects are being discussed, and I'd like to do my project on designing and building my own glass whitewater kayak. It is a topic I am highly interested in, but I've been having a lot of trouble finding a mentor for this topic— nobody builds their own anymore, it seems. Well anyways, I've posted various messages across the net, and I've tried to contact the Nantahala Outdoor Center about a mentor, but I've had no luck thus far. Well, I searched the net about kayak building, and this site was one of the ones found. It looks very informative, so I decided to post this message to see if anyone here knows about whitewater kayak building. Any information anyone may have about glass construction would be helpful, and if anyone is in the Western North Carolina area and would be willing to mentor me, please email me at Guske@excite.com.
