I faced the same decision before settling on the Cape Ann Expedition. Both boats do appear very similar but I found sufficient subtle differences to lean me towards the CAE. To be fair, I've not paddled either boat, nor spoken to anyone who has so my comments are probably not too objective. However, Vaclav's plans are superb as is his website. I have the stations already cut out and will be starting the actual construction as soon as I put one more coat of varnish on my Resolution double (which I've renamed Reference since it contains at least one example of every conceivable mistake and will prove a good reference for how not to do things!!)
