: Good to hear from you again. Whatchya been up to the past few months?
: Building anything new?

I have had the worst summer imaginable. No kayaking!! No hiking!! I worked 355 hours last month. The engine in my car blew up. No holidays with my kids. NOTHING!!

I had to cancel my week long trip around the northern tip of Vancouver Island (shakedown run for my month long trip next year) and now school is back in and it is back to the routine of life.

I did however reconfigure my electric pump so that now it is all in one compact unit and tucks behind the seat of my kayak. I changed it to a 750 gph model but I think I will go back to the 500 gph because the boat doesn't seem to empty any quicker. I put the battery and switch inside a pelican box and just had one hole for the pump wires that needed sealing. Then I glued the pump base to the box. Tie downs were easy, just a couple of d-rings on the floor and bulkhead.

How has your summer been?

Ian
