I used redwood for the entire hull and for accent strips on the deck. I thought it was very easy to work with - until I started using cedar. I had some old-growth wood and compared to cedar it was a little brittle. I would definitely use it again . I found the dust noxious though; even sawing and routing had me reaching for the dust mask.
