I am in the last stages of doing mine. It is easy enough to build,if you follow instructioons, and while the plans aren't pretty, they're very complete, and Rob has lots of tips and instructions. Support is also very good.
As for how it paddles...I haven't the slighest idea, I chose it for it's size and overall looks. Mine is gonna be georgeous! :)
