: I see that the "Wee Robbie" on your website bears a striking
: resemblance to Mac MacCarthy's "Wee Lassie". So, wassupwidat?

Mac's Wee Lassie and my Wee Robbie are inspried by Henry Rushton's Wee Lassie cira 1895. There are probably a dozen builders who currently build versions of this very popular double paddle canoe. Who wouldn't want to site Rushton on this classic design. I do in my literature.

I certainly have looked to other designs /designers for my inspiration.

I explain my sources on my web site. Henry Rushton has definately inspired my canoe designs.

And my kayak designs are inspired by native kayaks which I've studied. Also my baidarkas are directly inspired by George Dyson who I heard speak on baidarkas in the early nineties, however I've gone to native baidarka lines for my design source.

I have not used a living designer's work as my starting point.

What's a guy to think if you buy plans from a living, working, boatbuilder/designer and build boats that are similar?
