How "shortly" is shortly?

: Hi Shawn.

: Thanks for the advice. How "shortly" is shortly? I was planning on
: the sealer coat tomorrow night (Wednesday), followed by the fillet
: Thursday night, then 'glass on Friday -- I'll actually take the day off on
: Friday to mess with the fiberglass.

I'm no expert on glassing after fill coats, so others may want to weigh in here. If you wait too long (like a week), then your fill coat has started to cure, and you won't get a good chemical bond with your glass coat.

If it was me (and I have a hard time missing work), I'd fill coat Thursday night, fillet Friday morning, and use as much of my Saturday as I'd need for glassing.

"Overnight" isn't going to be a problem. You don't need to get up at 2:00am to start glassing after fill coating at 6:00pm and filleting at 11:00pm the previous evening. Gotta have a life outside of boats, right? Right? Hmm...nobody is backing me up :D
