I agree, it is a sanity thing. Paddling gives a quiet time to put things into perspective, or a challenge sometimes to think of nothing else but just coping with the elements, or moving as part of them. It's also a great feeling to make something useful and beautiful with your hands. Re. your next boat. I already bought the wood for my SOF. But I'm not addicted. I can stop anytime, really I can.
