I have been wanting to build a SOF Greenland-style kayak and have been reading Robert Morris' and George Putz' books and know that I could probably do it based on the information in those books, but I am much more of a "Kinesthetic Learner." So... I have found a class at the Mystic Seaport Museum in CT, if any other novice builders are interested. It takes place over two 3-day weekends, and you construct a Greenland-style kayak based on traditional anthropometric measurements. I am really looking forward to building my first boat with some hands-on guidance. The first class is in January...perfect mid-winter project!
