: I have been wanting to build a SOF Greenland-style kayak and have been
: reading Robert Morris' and George Putz' books and know that I could
: probably do it based on the information in those books, but I am much more
: of a "Kinesthetic Learner." So... I have found a class at the
: Mystic Seaport Museum in CT, if any other novice builders are interested.
: It takes place over two 3-day weekends, and you construct a
: Greenland-style kayak based on traditional anthropometric measurements. I
: am really looking forward to building my first boat with some hands-on
: guidance. The first class is in January...perfect mid-winter project!
Linda,
Sounds like a great opportunity. With an instructor right there, a lot of the “Now what do I do?” pain will be removed. They’ll also have various jigs ready for you to use. Good luck with the class and please post a picture when you get back. I know it’s a ways off but aren’t you getting excited?
