Glassing suggestions for bulkheads, et al.

I'm glassing my bulkheads and hatch lips. I've put the glass and first coat of epoxy on and it's drying now. My question is if there is any benefit or reason to add fill coats to the bulkheads and hatch lips? Seems to me that no fill coats should be OK since these'll be out of site. Thanks.
