If you did not apply a seal coat before fiberglassing, it would be a good idea to apply one fill coat now. This will seal pinholes, often caused by minor outgassing,.
Fill coats of resin (or varnish for that matter) on hatch lips will provide a better seal than the waffle texture of unfilled cloth.
