I built a steel plate pivoting center board into my sailboat almost identical to the CLC skeg. Good idea that I will consider. I would not cut through the deck but keep the pivot slot box under it along with a control rope or wire. This is probably my best solution so I could use the boat in small creeks and be very manuvuerable or in rough water with the skeg fully down. This board really pays off. Thanks alot.
