My pic under "from a distance" also has an Aleut style paddle beside the boat which is based on Rob,s plans. The weight is 32oz, just like Rob,s and it's a really sweet paddle to use and less tiring over a long day than my graphite euro. I'm not sure if it's the pointed end or the profile but it's also a very quiet paddle. Mine is made from laminations of cedar, mahogany and spruce.
