My Chesapeake 17 (from plans) has a bend at the very stern - 3/16 - 1/4" off. I don't even notice it. Wind and waves are _way_ more problematic. You'll pick up a corrective stroke or two but you won't even notice it. I've been paddling mine for 4 months now and I noticed it a lot more at first. Now, I concentrate on my destination and the scenery around me.
