Funny you mentioned it, I have been looking for one as well. I think greenland paddlers like the "tradionality" (is that a word?) of the greenland paddle, and maybe making it split in half would be a sin. I was thinking about making one, sawing it in two, and using a threaded dowel to connect the two halves. The dowel would be glued into one end, and the other end would have a threaded female connection. I would compare it to the way a broomstick threads into the head of the broom. I was actually wanting to ask if anyone had tried this and if anyone thought it would be too weak of a connection. I'm like you, I want to have a greenland to carry along on long trips, especially in windy conditions, and alternate paddling techniques.
