Craig, I'm at a loss on varnish still. Two kayaks, different varnishing conditions using captains varnish, they both have crazed peeling (at dings) varnish as though it's 5yrs old in direct sunlight, except they're 1yr old and in the shade when not in use. Two other kayaks, look perfect, added two coats after two years just because of scratches otherwise it looks great. I'm still at a loss.
