: Greetings, all...
: We've all seen amazing things on this board, and those of us lucky enough to
: attend the Rendezvous or other such events have seen more. I'm suggesting
: that we take a sampling of the best innovations in kayak building
: technology or ideas. So, if you have an idea that you're proud of
: yourself, or are really impressed with someone else's, please post it
: below. Also, include links, pictures, or some such stuff if possible.
: Thanks!
This may or may not be of use to anyone but it's something I stumbled onto. When I was ready to glue my prototype foam skeg on my kayak I use contact cement. I knew I would have to use the water base on the foam or it would eat the foam so I put it on the foam and the varnished hull. It wouldn't stick. But now I could put on a coat of of the thinner based contact cement over the water base and not eat the foam. I did and the foam stuck really good to the varnished hull. I had decided ahead of time that I would have to scrape, sand, use solvent to get this off my hull. But when I pull on it the whole thing streched and came off completely clean off the varnished hull.
