I agree - the 1/4" will not take the curvature of the CLC-style deck. As an alternative to buying "the good stuff", consider changing the deck to something Pygmy-style, which is multiple panels just like the hull. The 1/4" should work OK for that (although I never built a Pygmy, but have seen a few). There appears to be very little curvature in those deck panels.

Or build a hybrid. Luan hull, cedar strip deck. If you have a wood shop, you could buy cedar planks and rip your own strips. Not real cheap, but probably better than buying okoume plywood for the deck - and better looking too. But more time consuming.
