I have been looking around quite a lot and reading web pages of people who have built kayaks. I've read a few pages on the construction of the Chesapeake 17, these seem quite straight forward. I would really like to build a strip kayak but I think this would be abit adventurous to start with.

None at all. I was thinking of getting some research done over the winter and hopefully get some pool sessions, just to get some basics learnt. Then as the weather warms up start on building a kayak while having lessons on the water.

I doubt i'll have room when I go back to the UK to do more building but you never know!!
