Paul, this sound real interesting and better than a steam box in many ways. Can you steam all of the stem pieces at one time (6 strips 1/4 inch thick each and 1.5 inches wide)? Is the plastic from lawn and garden garbage bags heavy enough or do you need something heavie (like the plastic sheeting use at construction sites to shield the area)? Any further info or resources would be much appreciated as I hope to steam the stems (cherry) for my canoe this weekend and I'm nervous about it already. Thanks in advance. Rick V.
