I think either would work fine. However, when I was done with my internal strongback I put it high on a wall with three shelf brackets, it is out of the way and I use the sawhorses for other things. The external strongback is a large albatross in my shop that I don't have room to store. I'm afraid the only solution is to build another boat, sigh.
