Have you seen those bookcases that are made out of half a cedar strip canoe?
They sell for about $800, I think.

Make two bookcases or other conversation pieces out of your boat, sell them,
and buy a new kit. There must be someone out there looking for an unusual
furnishing for their den.

Actually, I tend to agree with the previous post that recommends building a new
hull and putting the old deck on it. I think it'll be tough, though not
impossible, to keep everything in proper alignment while patching.
I suppose you have very little to lose by trying, though.
