That sounds like the plan except I'll let the computer draw the curve. I'll be making several checks along the way, including the one you've recommended.
BTW Nick: You did a nice job with the book. I've read and enjoyed my copy cover to cover. I look forward to the 2nd edition? (or downloadable for a fee booklets?) with additonal information on kayak design, artistic use of strips/inlays/etc, and whatever new techniques you come up with.
