Some do. CLC sends this with their plans. Problem is, plotters are only as accurate as the input. And *no* photocopier is perfectly precise, especially the large blueprint copiers. There is also the problem of getting the lines from the paper onto the wood. Oh there are ways, they just aren't easy. Not to mention the thickness of the lines that come with large drawings.

I built my first boat this way, and had to throw it away because of the inherent problems of trying to trace a crudely plotted, multi generational copies distorted drawing onto wood. And try to get it to fair well. In my opinion, battens and tables work far better then wishing upon a photocopier.
