I've used the beta release of Rhino, a 3D modeling program available at the link below, to plot the stations for several canoes from CanoeCraft, and am currently working on the Guillemot from Nick's book. I have access to a plotter at work but have to supply my own paper :-( so I can print the forms full-size. It's an impressive program, overkill for this type of project but the beta is free. Allows you to smooth and manipulate curves, loft surfaces, render, print at different scales and much more that is beyond me. Not a real steep learning curve for this application (if I can do it, ....).
