Hi All! I'm the new guy. I've been lurking on your DF for a bit now and figure you to be a good bunch of guys/gals. So I hope you don't mind if I ask you a bunch of stupid questions. I'm a pretty good woodworker but a novice at kayaking. I have been a couple of times and really enjoyed it so I've decided to look into building my own boat. I'm thinking of building a double so my wife can join me. Here's stupid question #1: can a single person paddle a double craft very well. I was also thinking that the second cockpit would be a great entry for my gear (camping, climbing...) for longer trips. Does this make sense? Any recomendations on plans or where to get them. I'm dirt poor so the cheaper the better. Would a sea kayak be the choice for me when I plan on using it on lakes, calm rivers with no whitewater and maybe someday out on the ocean? I'm looking at SB method. Sounds like a lot of fun. Will the new poly glues work well for this? They expand to fill joints and it seams to me that this would work well on a boat. Where does one get kevlar, carbon fiber, fiberglass? I think that's all for now. Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to chatting with you all soon. Zax
